DOWNLOAD BOX II S is a modern, fast and reliable download key that handles it all: new-generation smart tachographs G2V2 and driver cards. Its intuitive controls make it very easy to use. Downloaded data goes to the TAGRA program on your PC – with no dependency on a third-party cloud. Also suitable for vans – it covers the tachograph requirement for vehicles of 2.5–3.5 t in international transport for hire or reward and in cabotage, which applies from 1 July 2026.

To download data, you need a company card, which you apply for from the competent authority in your country.
Without an active company card, the tachograph will not allow you to download data. It acts as your electronic key to the vehicle.

How to do your first download
Company card into your PC
Connect a smart card reader to your PC and insert your company card. This authorises access to the vehicle's data.
Key to the tachograph
Connect the DOWNLOAD BOX II S key to the digital tachograph in the vehicle. If you also want to download a driver card, insert it into the key's integrated card reader.
Transfer to TAGRA
After downloading, connect the key to your PC via USB. The downloaded data is transferred directly to the TAGRA program, where it is automatically checked, analysed and archived.

Need downloads without visiting the vehicle?
DOWNLOAD BOX REMOTE downloads tachograph and driver card data remotely, so nobody has to go to the vehicle with a key. The unit is installed permanently in the vehicle by a qualified installer.
Installation is currently available in Slovakia and Hungary. We are looking for installation partners in other EU countries – if your company installs tachographs or vehicle electronics and would like to represent us in your country, write to sales@tagra.app.

Frequently asked questions
Does this device support the latest smart tachographs G2V2?
Yes. DOWNLOAD BOX II S is fully compatible with second-generation, version 2 smart tachographs (Smart Tacho II / G2V2). The key downloads all standard required files, including the detailed GPS records newly stored by G2V2. It works just as well with older VDO and Stoneridge tachographs.
How often do I have to download data?
Legislation requires you to download driver card data at least every 28 days and tachograph data at least every 90 days. You must archive the data for at least 1 year. We recommend downloading a little more often, so you have a buffer if a driver is unavailable (illness, holiday).
What format is the downloaded data saved in?
Data is saved in .DDD format, or .C1B/.V1B depending on the tachograph make. To open and analyse it, you need analysis software, such as the TAGRA program, which is fully compatible with DOWNLOAD BOX II S.
Can I also use this key for vans from July 2026?
Yes. DOWNLOAD BOX II S is fully ready for the tachograph requirement for vans (light commercial vehicles) of 2.5–3.5 t used in international transport for hire or reward and in cabotage, which applies from 1 July 2026. The key supports all smart tachographs G2V2 fitted in vans.
