The reader reads cards, not tachographs
The reader reads the driver card on your PC. To download data from the tachograph in the vehicle, you need a download key. The ideal combination: download key + reader + TAGRA program.
DOWNLOAD BOX II S – manual tachograph download, transfer to the PC by USB cable.
DOWNLOAD BOX II S Wi-Fi – manual download, transfer over Wi-Fi.
DOWNLOAD STATION – lockable wall station for driver cards.

Need downloads without visiting the vehicle?
DOWNLOAD BOX REMOTE downloads tachograph data automatically and remotely. This reader is essential for it: it reads the company card that authorises the remote downloads. The unit is installed permanently in the vehicle by a qualified installer.

Frequently asked questions
Which cards can I read with this reader?
The reader is designed for contact smart cards (ISO/IEC 7816) – in practice, the driver card and the company card. The driver card holds the driver's activity records. The company card is used to unlock the tachograph and to authorise remote downloads; no activities are recorded on it.
How does the company card help with remote downloads?
Read through this reader, the company card authorises your company to download data from the tachograph remotely and securely via DOWNLOAD BOX REMOTE.
Do I need to install anything?
In most cases, no. The reader works through the PC/SC and USB CCID industry standards, which Windows supports natively.
How often do I have to read the driver card and the vehicle?
At least once every 28 days for the driver card and at least once every 90 days for the vehicle unit (tachograph).
Is the reader compatible with the TAGRA program?
Yes. It reads the driver card directly into the TAGRA program for evaluation, and it reads the company card for remote downloads into TAGRA.
